Whether you are running a track-focused setup or a show-quality street build, the custom center caps at Ehrlich Wheel Works are engineered for serious enthusiasts who want their wheels to look as dialed-in as the engineering underneath them.
What Sets Our Custom Center Caps Apart
Our custom center caps catalog covers a wide range of aftermarket wheel brands and sizes. We work with manufacturers who machine their caps from billet aluminum and finish them in gloss black, brushed silver, gold, and powder-coated colors that hold up against brake dust, road salt, and UV exposure. If you are running a rare offset or an oddball PCD, reach out before ordering. We can often source or coordinate a custom run when off-the-shelf sizing does not match your build.
Pairing Your Caps with the Right Wheel Hardware
A custom center cap is just one piece of the visual story your wheels tell. The hardware around it, including the lip, barrel, and exposed bolt circle, all contribute to the finished look. If you are mid-build and still sourcing components, our wheel lips and barrels collection carries the supporting hardware you need to refinish a multi-piece set or rebuild from scratch. For owners working outside the BBS ecosystem, our non BBS wheels collection covers staggered fitments and aftermarket brands where matching center caps are equally important to the final appearance.
Order with Confidence
Every set of custom center caps we ship is verified for fitment against the wheel specs you provide at checkout, which is why we ask for diameter, bolt pattern, and wheel model. That extra step prevents the most common return reason in this category, which is a cap that sits proud of the hub face or rattles inside the bore. If you have questions about compatibility before placing an order, our team responds quickly and can confirm fitment based on your wheel ID stamp or photos. Browse the full selection above and finish your build the right way.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do wheel center caps affect wheel balance or handling?
No. Standard wheel center caps are incredibly lightweight and mount perfectly on the wheel's center axis of rotation. Because of their minimal mass and centered position, they have absolutely no measurable effect on wheel balance, handling, braking, or fuel economy. Once snapped into the hub bore, they simply spin in unison with the wheel without introducing any imbalance to the complete assembly.
How do you remove center caps without damaging the wheel?
The safest method on most wheels is double-sided tape rather than a screwdriver or pick. Press a strip of wider 3M-style double-sided tape onto the face of the existing cap, let it adhere for a few seconds, then pull straight out. The cap will release cleanly without scratching the wheel face or bending the retaining tabs. Prying with a metal tool is the most common cause of curb-rash-adjacent damage on wheels that never actually saw a curb.
Will custom center caps fit any wheel, or are they wheel-specific?
Most custom center caps are sized to a specific hub bore diameter and retention style, so they are not universal. Snap-in caps depend on bore diameter and the height of the retaining tabs, while threaded caps depend on the thread pitch (the 58mm small-thread and 72mm large-thread BBS standards are the two you will run into most often). Before ordering, confirm your bore measurement and whether your wheel uses a snap, thread, or hex retention setup. If you are unsure, send a photo of the back of your existing cap and we can match it.
What materials are custom wheel center caps made from?
The caps in this collection are machined from billet aluminum rather than cast or molded plastic. Billet holds a sharper edge on logos and lettering, resists cracking under temperature swings near the brakes, and takes a far better finish. That is why our custom wheel center caps are offered in anodized, powder-coated, and brushed options instead of the thin chrome plating that flakes off OEM-style plastic caps after a few seasons.
Can I get a custom finish or engraving to match my build?
Yes. Because these are machined in-house and through partner shops, finish and detailing are flexible. We regularly coordinate gloss black, gold, brushed silver, and color-matched powder coat, and we can discuss custom engraving or logo work for builds that need a one-off look. Reach out with your wheel model and the finish you are chasing before placing the order so we can confirm what is achievable.
How are custom center caps for wheels secured so they do not pop off at speed?
Retention depends on the cap type. Snap-in caps seat against the bore with spring tabs that grip the inner lip, threaded caps thread directly into the hub, and hex-style BBS caps lock down over a waffle plate. When a cap is sized correctly to the wheel, custom center caps for wheels stay put through hard driving and track use. Caps that work loose are almost always a sizing or worn-tab issue, which is why we verify fitment against your specs before shipping.
Do you sell single replacement caps, or only full sets?
Both. Many of our replacement hex caps and waffle plates are sold individually so you can replace a single lost or damaged piece without buying a whole set. Billet conversion kits and matched four-cap sets are listed separately. Check the product title and options on each listing, since it will specify whether the price is per piece or per set of four.
