BBS has been producing forged racing wheels since the early 1970s, when the company pioneered three-piece wheel construction for motorsport applications. That heritage shows in every BBS race wheel we sell. The forged aluminum centers undergo a multi-stage die-forging process requiring millions of pounds of pressure, which reshapes the metal's grain structure for density and strength that cast alternatives cannot match.

What separates BBS motorsport wheels from competing forged options is the stiffness-to-weight ratio. A lighter wheel means less unsprung mass, which translates to faster steering response, shorter braking distances, and improved suspension compliance. BBS achieves this through backmilled spokes and heat-treated spun aluminum rim sections, removing material only where it does not contribute to structural integrity.

BBS E88 Wheels: The Motorsport Benchmark

The BBS E88 is the cornerstone of our racing wheel collection. Built with a die-forged aluminum center and the iconic cross-spoke design, our Ehrlich Spec E88 wheels use 3-piece construction with heat-treated spun aluminum rim sections. We carry BBS E88 wheels in 4-lug, 5-lug center lock, and more configurations across 18" and 19" diameters.

Our Ehrlich Spec BBS E88 wheels come preconfigured for popular applications. For BMW owners, we offer 18" sets for E36 and E46 non-M models (5x120), 18" and 19" sets for E46 M3 and E9X M cars, and 19" sets for the G8X M platform (5x112), and more. Porsche owners can choose from our center lock E88 fitments for the 997.2, 991.1, and 991.2 GT3 and GT3-RS, and more. Other popular setups are available for a wide variety of vehicles.

E07, E87, RT88, and more: Expanding the Lineup

Beyond BBS E88 wheels, our motorsport collection includes the BBS E07, E87, RT88, and more. The E07 is available in 19" center lock Porsche fitment for the 997.2, 991.1, and 991.2 GT3 and GT3-RS. This wheel shares the E88's forged construction while offering a distinct spoke pattern for owners who want a different look without compromising performance.

The RT88 steps up to 20" and 21" staggered configurations, with center lock fitments purpose-built for the 992 GT3 and GT3-RS. For BMW builds, we also carry a custom-built Ehrlich Spec RT88 in 20" with 5x120 bolt pattern for F8X M fitment, featuring a 3-piece conversion with custom barrels and lips in specs not offered through BBS directly.

The E87 is designed much like the E88, but for owners who want to stick with 16 and 17" wheels. They are available in 5x120, 5x130, 4x100, and are primarily for Porsche, BMW E30, E30 M3, E36 M3, and E46 non M series.

The purchaser is responsible for ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal vehicle regulations before use on public roads. The lower unsprung mass actually benefits street driving too, improving ride quality and steering feel over heavier OEM wheels.

What is the difference between BBS E88 and E07 wheels?

Both the E88 and E07 are three-piece forged motorsport wheels, but they differ in spoke design and available applications. The E88 uses the classic cross-spoke pattern and is available in 5-lug and center lock configurations for a wide range of BMW and Porsche fitments. The E07 offers an alternative spoke layout and is currently produced primarily in center lock Porsche applications.
